Dennis Slater, president of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), recently wrote a letter supporting the National Highway Bridge Reconstruction and Inspection Act of 2007 that was distributed to Capitol Hill.
As the August 1 anniversary of the Minneapolis bridge collapse approaches, AEM continues to support the effort in Congress to secure appropriate funding for infrastructure repairs and upgrades. AEM supports reauthorizing the highway bill next year because delay imperils productivity and economic growth.
AEM is the North American-based international trade group representing the off-road equipment manufacturing industry, and its members manufacture equipment, products and services used worldwide in the agriculture, construction, forestry, mining and utility sectors. AEM is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and has offices in the world capitals of Washington, D.C.; Ottawa, Canada; and Beijing, China; with a European presence in Brussels, Belgium.
